The article entitled, "Creative Powers" speaks to a declining economy in Michignan in 2003...little did we know in 2003 what economy we would be facing in 2009! A quote from this article shows how The China Closet has worked with clients during these fiscal times, "Many companies and many individuals have simply eliminated their special events. Our response is to contact our clients and let them know that we can work with their budgets and still produce a wonderful event for them." I think this business plan has allowed The China Closet to weather the economic storms..and we will continue to created dreams based on client's budgets!

The wedding of Keven Duffy and Brewster Pettus! This feature just hints at the magic that was present at this wedding celebration! Set at the Oxford family home on rolling acres of land with paddocks of horses, a quick summer shower, and multiple rainbows PLUS Hollywood icon, Dennis Hopper, in attendance...it will forever be one of the dream weddings of my lifetime! One of my special memories were the lanterns set and hung by Blossoms Florist and the assistance of Dominic at Special Events to make sure that every wick stayed lit the entire night long...and this is how wonderful relationships are born!
The Knot Winter/Spring 2002
This issue features Carolyn Hefner as the Michigan Local Expert with her own editorial page (page 18). Advice covering Legally Wed, Bachelorette Bash, Savvy Shoes, and Tea Parties has drastically changed since this publishing date! Spas have come and gone, tea houses have opened and closed...unfortunately, a sign of the times, I fear!
